The poplar transcription factor project is funded by financial support from the Strategic Research Foundation (SSF) to Rishikesh P. Bhalerao.

The goal of this project is to clone full length cDNAs for 1200 poplar transcription factors and express a large number of these in poplar. The transgenic poplar plants will be then analysed with respect to growth and wood properties.
This work is being performed in collaboration with industrial partner
